In my program, there are two groups of people--the youngsters just out of college, and the mid 20s-30s married or in-serious-relationships people. I'm definitely in the latter category, even though I'm younger than almost all of them. Married people don't talk about china patterns any more--they're cool!!

I think it's pretty normal for 1) you to be feeling this way about the wedding. From what I hear, most people get all wrapped up in it. While it's not enjoyable, remember that this will be one of the best memories of your life, so it's worth it to work this hard for it; and 2) you to feel like you don't know who you are. I learned in some psychology class that we "remake" ourselves every 7 years, and early mid-twenties is one of those times. I suggest making yourself take breaks, and do something for you. Meditate, knit, take walks, etc., so you can feel like yourself or create a new self, as you wish. I also think that you may be feeling a lot of 2 because of the wedding.

Not going back to school right now is not a huge deal. The girl that I've become closest with took 3 years off, just like you will, and she has a lovely perspective on things--young enough to still be cool, old enough to know better and not make the same mistakes that I can already tell the just out of undergrad girls are making. It's all about perspective and how YOU view things.

(and I'm super serious about the taking time part. it sounds like you need it)
