Age; Mid thirties.

House; Hel’s House.

Power; Shadow Control.

Personality; Eddie is a man that has lost almost everything. His job, his family-his wife. And in his mind, the man responsible for all of his suffering, all of his torment, is the one known as Spider-Man. In a sense, his desire for revenge was all he lived for at one point, and the alien symbiote that found him only enhanced those feelings tenfold. Brock’s emotions twisted the symbiote’s own, and they were both pushed to insanity. The entity, Venom, swore that they were poison to Spider-Man and his family.

Eddie and the symbiote have a mutual understanding that they are NOT one single being even if they function as one--so as Venom, they refer to themselves as ‘they’. They are two parts of a whole, both man and symbiote, so it is only fitting to refer to themselves as such! The symbiote needs a host in order to survive and function, and therefore in return, it protects and empowers Brock. Unknown to Eddie, he is suffering from terminal stomach cancer. Thanks to the symbiote, the cancer is controlled and kept permanently at bay. If the symbiote were to leave Eddie, he would undoubtedly die within a few months without its help. Eddie simply refers to the alien as his "Other", and it affectionately refers to him as "Hostmine."

As time went on, Venom saw themselves as defenders of the city and its inhabitants. Where, in their mind, Spider-Man had failed to protect Eddie Brock, they could do better, and would do better! Unfortunately, their methods soon proved to be extremely violent and brutal at best, for they felt as though offenders should be punished to the maximum. Perhaps surprisingly, if an innocent is in danger, Venom will always choose to rescue them rather than pursue a criminal, and believe that there is nothing viler than the loss of innocent life. This makes them extremely affectionate towards children, even with their monstrous visage.

They have a short fuse and won’t think twice about reacting with physical violence if need be. Though they hold grudges, they have proven to be quite rational; when Carnage, Venom’s son, was terrorizing the entire city, they were quick to team up with their hated nemesis, Spider-Man, in order to stop him for the sake of the civilians.

For now, they fight to keep the city both safe and clean, and hide themselves away in the dank sewers just underneath the busy streets to skulk by themselves, and brood. They are never lonely, not with one another present in each other’s thoughts, but it is in the safety of their lairs that Venom sometimes fades away, and Eddie is again awake and aware.

He is a gruff man by nature, hardened by his experiences and the injustices he’s struggled through, but a noble man as well. He was raised by his father, his mother having died in childbirth, and excelled in sports--but his real passion was writing. He was an extremely intelligent man, and his father raised him properly, so his ways can be deemed a bit old-fashioned. He’ll hold doors open for women, treat them well, and is scathing to those who do not. To mistreat a woman-- well, it’s unthinkable.

Venom does not agree.

The hulking beast has little qualms about striking down any criminal, no matter their gender or age. They are physically affectionate in this form, creepily so, and while their tongue might be dragging itself down your cheek one moment, it could just as easily be around your throat the next. To fight is to play, and Venom knows that they are on the top of the food chain. They know no fear, and certainly no mercy. They love to toy with their victims, often laughing out song lyrics or insults in a double-edged, booming voice while hunting down their prey. They appreciate good humor, even if most of it is wasted on whoever unfortunately caught their eye.

Samples;

Network Sample; You’re kidding us! This must be some sort of joke! [The laughter rises and falls eerily, choking past their gritted teeth.] Oh, how rich! Well, at least you can say you put a smile on our face! We’ll wring your necks while we chuckle about it!

[They pause for a moment, claws scraping against the floor.] But... You caught us while we’re feeling generous! You can either send us back... or the rest of this place will find you in pieces.

Log Sample; The biting cold of the night truly was something soothing, and each gust of wind made their inky skin ripple with something akin to pleasure. Cold, cool darkness. It was what they instinctively craved, and though the dusty rays of sunlight were tolerable, the heat they brought made them unconsciously grow irritable if they were out and about too long without sufficient distraction.

They had sat motionless upon one of New York’s many impressive skyscrapers, unaffected by the dizzying height. Taloned hands flexed against the stone lip of the rooftop, eager to stalk the cloying shadows of the city in search of a proper hunt. Oh, how they craved it! Though their intentions were noble and pure, true, they would not deny that the darker crevasses of their combined being ached for the chance to use their insurmountable strength on someone who deserved the full brunt of their wrath.

Perhaps unfortunately, they did not have to wait long.

Though the events suddenly transpiring below were nearly impossible to see in the gloom of nightfall, their eyes missed nothing. A mugger, it seemed, had approached one of the lonely little cars making the trek home after a hard night of work. It looked as though a driver had been forcibly yanked from his vehicle after stopping at a light, and even as Venom leapt from their perch--just as the unmistakable sound of a shot rang out and deafened everything. They could do little but watch as the once-struggling form of the man unexpectedly crumpled to the streets, though they twisted their massive body about once, feet smashing into the windows of the building to give them an extra boost of speed.

They hit the ground hard enough to crack it, but the perpetrator had already leapt into the stolen vehicle and was gone. That was hardly concerning; massive, clawed hands slowly lifted the still-bleeding body into the air, and a low rumble stirred in the spider-marked barrel of a chest.

"Poor fellow." They sighed, allowing their thick tongue to slip past serrated and dripping jaws to gingerly brush against the side of the dead man’s face. Part of their body slithered forth, wrapping around a limp wrist, but it only confirmed their suspicions; he was dead. He probably had a family, a family that would now be forced to live forever without their doting husband and father. "We know. Your life was stolen far too quickly, mm? A shame, an awful, unforgivable sin."

It was enough to boil their blood.

A hiss like steel sliding upon steel grated out past their teeth, and though the corners of their mouth pulled up as though to widen their grin, it only made them look more deranged. Innocent blood had been spilled for this? A minute tremor quivered throughout their muscular arms, forcing the body cradled against their chest to shiver, and gently, Venom let it rest once more upon the concrete. There was nothing more for them to do for this man; the police would be notified and a proper burial would be given.

"We will see justice!" The snarl boomed out even louder than the shot had, eyes narrowing until they were jagged, white slashes against the sides of their head. With that, they were gone.

The next morning, the only signs that anyone had ever stolen the now mangled and gashed vehicle were ragged strips of clothing, as though the victim had been slashed or cut--and, of course, the streaks of still-drying blood all over the interior of the car.

The body was nowhere to be seen.
