So I still have no job. Bio field work doesn't start till the spring and the lady who's supposed to call me back about tutoriing her son keeps flaking cuz she has a job that keeps her busy. Damn. Any suggestions people? I'm not going back to Radio Shack or Cold Stone if I can help it.
Right now, I'm helping out this bio-acoustician with research on a study he wants to do, which is pretty interesting, but tragically, it doesn't pay. I'm helping him out of the goodness of my heart. Or something like that. It's experience and a possible foot in the door. It's in the field of conservation biology, which is becoming a hot job, so if his research catches on and I do a good job at helping him, I might be on the team for the next research he does which might actually have a grant attached to it. That means money for Katie! Yay! So hopefully that will work out in the end, but that's probably years down the line at this point. In the meantime, I've been making the mistake of keeping all my eggs in one basket with this lady who's not calling me back fast enough for my liking. Pretty soon, she's not gonna have me as a tutor for her son, cuz next week I'm gonna contact the local high schools and get my name in there for tutoring and THEN she'll be sorry. ...right? Grrrr. I hate it when people flake.
Anyway, I'm going up to Humboldt tomorrow to see Logan for almost the last time before he goes to Australia for a month. I'm also going to be helping my dad with the electrical work on the garage that my parents just had built. I'm getting paid for that, so that's a good thing. Money is always good, especially right before the holidays so that I can actually buy people presents. Woot.
