Baby Travel
Nearly had a meltdown from lack of sleep this morning. Well, lack of sleep combined with a toothache.
Had to take Ben to the Doctor today for a follow-up on his bilirubin (sp?) counts. The doc said she could tell by looking at him that most of the jaundice has flushed out of his system; no need for more heel pricks!
He has gone from 6 lbs 2 oz at birth to 6 lbs 15 oz. This is the opposite of what most newborns do; they generally lose weight.
To weigh a newborn, the nurse has you remove all his clothing; even the diaper. She was adjusting the scale and having learned certain tell-tale signs I said, "He is about to let loose." 30 seconds later, he was peeing all over her (and himself and the scale and anything in the general area.) Perhaps next time she'll listen to parental warnings!
Then Jake, Ben and I headed to Babies R Us to exchange some gifts. I also had a $90 gift card I intended to spend on a play yard to take to events. They sold out of the one we registered for. And I couldn't decide on another one. So I used all the money from the exchange on BABY CLOTHES! WooHoo!
Toothache is back. I guess I have to actually go to the dentist *gasp*! I haven't been in at least 5 years. *shudder*
