My dog is smarter than most people, and possibly even smarter than me. Which is saying something since my IQ in really high (or so they say).

We have a division of labor-I drive and get food and Charlie judges the character and intent of everyone we meet and defines the safety standard of our home, vehicle, tent, truck, or foxhole we live in.
