Off to Paris!
Another half an hour in the madhouse and then we're off to Paris for the weekend! Yessss! I've never been on the Eurostar before so that's going to be interesting. The hotel we booked looks quite nice online but I have learned not to be deceived by web design so I won't judge it before I've actually seen it in real.
The Eurostar tickets were for free from that competition I won last year. But I saw that they only cost 50£ return from London. So either UBS gets a good deal or we'll be stacked up in the freight wagon. But if that's the real price for a return ticket I think I'll have to consider going again if I like it :).
Back to work on Monday and then Amy is coming for a long weekend (I've got Mon & Tue off the week after) so that'll be great fun. Got Phantom of the Opera on the agenda LOL. About time I see it again, it's been nearly a year now!!!
Helen in events handed in her notice yesterday and left immediately. By the sounds of it they have been treating her really shite. I was supposed to be going out with her last night but we moved that to next Tuesday now for obvious reasons. Looking forward to hear the story behind this all. But it looks now like I am really going home in spring, as my only job option that I would have considered involved all our events and without Helen there, it'll only be half as good.
Also, I've just heard that the big boss of our group has resigned. Big boss as in someone we had to deal with on a daily basis, not someone so high up the food chain that we never really get to see/hear them. I wonder what brought that on. It'll be an interesting couple of days coming up, with all these changes. My other boss, Tyne, is now pregnant, too (remember: Melissa, the co-boss, had her 2nd child in August and is currently on maternity). She'll be off from sometime mid February. And another senior person in the Sales team (the one we're working with very closely) apparently is about 6 months pregnant, too. We've been suspecting that for a while but she really doesn't show at all! So that makes it at least 4 preggers women on this floor right now. Madness! I hope it's not catching (though I wouldn't mind if it came from a gorgeous man LOL).
