...since I last posted. And it probably is.
How are you all? I've kept reading all the entries, of course, but my inspiration to add anything had been below zero. Sorry to all my fans who have been waiting so long for an all exciting update... NOT ;).
Am quite busy this July. Not work-wise, thank god. Am travelling all over the place this month. It started with a lovely weekend up in MK at Steph's. We got lots of shopping done, which was great.
Then, tonight, I am off to Switzerland for a wedding tomorrow. My godfather is getting married again and he sounded so happy that I initially said I'd come (that was before I knew I'd have to fly out again two weeks later) that I just couldn't stand the thought of disappointing him. So my trip tonight is going to take me from the UK to Germany and then via Austria home to Switzerland. Very exciting... not! But the Swiss flights were so bl***y expensive on short notice (yeah, I only decided to go to the wedding 2 weeks ago) that I looked for alternatives. And found it in Ryanair: 36£ return including taxes!! Only downside: it's going to Germany. But the good thing is it's only about 1 hour drive from my parents house (on the other side of Lake Constance). And now my lovely Dad decided that he cannot be bothered to use the ferry so he's going to drive AROUND the lake (via Austria) to come and pick me up. Whatever rocks his boat, really. As long as I get home quickly and for free :).
Next week, on Wednesday evening, I am flying out to Amsterdam, where I'll meet up with Andreina. We'll stay until Sunday. She's leaving in the morning already and I hope to be able to see Aafke for a few hours until my plane leaves at 6pm (I could have gone home earlier but after my last Heathrow disaster I prefer to fly to LCY just to make sure I find my way home... *rolls eyes*).
Yeah and then back to Switzerland the weekend after again, to go to my godson's christening. And that'll be it for July. Ho hum. I am a busy traveller :). Just hope that none of the transport systems will have it in for me again!
So what else has been happening lately? Work's been pretty dull, not much going on. Which is fine with me, as I was pretty stressed out after Monaco. Not sure if I ever mentioned that incident where the elf - aka my old boss - asked me why I am being so unpleasant to him recently and I told him in his face that I cannot stand people who have no respect for others and I therefore cannot be nice to him, because he makes me sick with his behaviour...? That was the only 'exciting' bit in the last 2 months, really... Anyway, I've had lots of time to relax a bit at work, which is good. But it also gives me too much time to think and I guess I have come to the conclusion that this time next year I'll probably be back in Switzerland. I don't fancy being in the City much longer. Plus my godmother said that she's pretty sure we can find a job for me back home that pays me as much as I get here - which would technically make me a third richer, as life in Switzerland is about that much cheaper than here in London. That are good prospects, I'd say. Definitely enough to get me excited - and thinking :).
There will be a big conference in Singapore and Melbourne in September. Helen, our events girl (the one I do all the conferences and stuff with) has been order to move to Singapore for 10 weeks to help organise it and also to replace someone who's on hols in the events team there. Anyway, point is, if they are 'desperate' enough to pay all that money to have someone from here stay there for so long, we were wondering how good my chance would be if I asked to go and help during the event. I am still trying to figure out a strategy - and of course, trying to find out who I would have to be very nice to in the next few weeks in order to be allowed to help with this event. How cool would that be? Singapore and Melbourne paid for by UBS? I'd be in heaven!!!
I finally bought a digital camera. And I spent wayyyy too much on it. I really didn't want the most fancy thing, but I somehow ended up buying it anyway. Well, as fancy as compact cameras get, that is. But it set me back quite a bit, finacially. I bought the IXUS 65 from Canon. And what a beauty it is! Am totally in love with it.
Then there's the new Muse cd. Very very exciting. Really love it. Can't wait for them to go on tour (cannot go to any of the festivals they are going to). Niki, the newish girl here in our team, is a big fan, too, so we said we'll go see them together if ever they are in town. That would be a great night out!
Right, I better do some work now. Oh, did I mention that Steven will be in Amsterdam on exactly the same weekend as me and Andreina! How ridiculous is that? We had a running joke recently, saying that this month we'll not see each other on any of the weekends - apart from the one in Amsterdam. So silly. We tried to think of a way to wind up his friends and organise a 'meeting', but I told him that I cannot pretend that I don't know them and just come over and chat one of his friends up (who I don't know). Maybe I could rope Andreina into doing it, but I can't. So he said we'll just meet up 'normally', which is lovely. We don't really need to, but we're bound to bump into each other at some point anyway, as Amsterdam is really not that big.
Met the parents, btw. But that's another story. I'll shut up now.
Have a good day/weekend, you all! :)
