POTC: AWE
I finally got round to seeing this yesterday since I had the day off college, friend was off work and thanks to the cinema doing tickets for £2.50 all day on Tuesdays (happy days). :D I quite liked the film overall although I think it would have been more enjoyable had the room not been filled (seriously there was roughly 30+ of them!) with school kids who looked liked they were 13/14 (in which case, why the hell were they not at school?!?), however they did quieten a bit during the battle scenes...;)
Anyhoo...
- the opening scene was, different...I liked how they showed the people being hanged's feet coming through the trapdoors; that sounds horrible but I mean that it was an interesting way of showing it rather than as it is usually done in other movies. They probably had to show the feet because of the 12 rating. The boy with the coin reminded me of the same actor who portrayed young Will Turner in Curse of the Black Pearl's opening sequence...ETA: he also appears in the very last scene after the credits as Will & Elizabeth's son.
- Elizabeth doing that weird 'thing' whilst taking out the massive pistol from behind, under her outfit before going to see Sao Feng. XD
- Mulitple Jacks, ROFL. Very random! O.O
- The gorgeous image of the ship with the gang on it near the beginning sailing through the water which has the starry night sky reflected in it.
- Jack the monkey!! ♥ ♥ ♥ Interesting tidbit from IMDB: In the scene where Jack the Monkey is sat shivering, that was done by placing the monkey on a vibrating box.. Aaaaaw. ^__^ XD
- My friend and I just laughed our asses off as Jack kept running back and forth, side to side on the ship; it took us a while to realise he was doing this for a reason...;)
- Barbossa rocked, liked him very much in this even though he was the baddie in movie 1.
- Jack's entrance to the others by ship sliding spectacularly down the sand - talk about making an entrance! XD ♥
- The little guy from Jack's crew blasting a gun too big for him and flying backwards down the hatch from the force of it. LMAO.
- Tidbit from IMDB #2: The Green Flash is a real but very rare optical phenomenon during sunrise or sunset that is best observed at sea. It is caused by the refraction of light in the atmosphere, amplified by a mirage.. O.O
- Norrington! Eeeeee! Loved the little kiss between him and Elizabeth; I think he deserved to get one as he missed out waaaaay back in the beginning of the trilogy. :P
- The scene with all the ghosts in the water and in the little boats creeped me out...poor Govenor Swann. :(
- Jack comparing telescopes with Barbossa's, LMAO!!
- Elizabeth's outfit in the scene when Sao Feng makes her captain. ♥
- Keith Richards in pirate gear = :D
- Cotton's parrot going "ABANDON SHIP!" XD
- The way the camera pans around Will/Elizabeth when they kiss mid-battle. ♥
- Norrington: (to Elizabeth) "Our paths have always been intertwined, Elizabeth Swann.....but never joined." ♥
- I was pissed when they killed Norrington off; I saw it coming when Bootstrap picked up the wooden stake. *shakes fist* Whyyyyyyyyyy? *cries* >:|
- Loved the big ship fight in the whirlpool; wow...O.O
- Alternate Jack: (resembling Bootstrap Bill) "Nobody move! I dropped me brain!"
- Indian pirate lord: (in high-pitched voice) "AND SO, WE GO TO WAR!!" XD
- Crabs = weirdly cute. Seeing giant!Calypso turn into them, eeeeeew...O__O
- Will getting stabbed. O__O
- The 2 guards from movie 1 (who Jack runs into looking after the ships while everyone else is at the ceremony thing) becoming pirates, bwahahahah. XD
- I don't know why but I liked Beckett's death scene in slo-mo with everything getting blown up behind him as he came down the steps and getting engulfed in flames.
- Jack: "Mr. Gibbs, you may throw my hat if you'd like." (Gibbs throws hat) "Now go and get it." *sniggers*
- Jack: "My peanut!"
