Read this story, seriously. If you've ever had any interest in fantasy or adventure, you should really read this. The worldbuilding is fabulous and it's thoroughly engaging and original, and just. It's fabulous. You probably don't need to be involved in bandom to read it, and it's a damn shame if you missed out on it because of it.

Summary: (AU) Jon is a crook who tries using his shady skills to do good things for a change. Gerard is stuck on a pirate ship, looking for a way off. There are: magic, ray guns, magical creatures, robots, and various Dangerous and Evil Things that may stop both Jon and Gerard getting to where they want to be.
(It's so, so much better than the summary leads you to believe. Put like that it looks like crackfic, but it is so entirely not. Just. It's great stuff.)
