Moar info. Not cutting because this is important, dammit.

here. (link:

The Daily Show does a nice job of summing up, both backstory and the prank call:

Understandably, Madison's Police Chief wasn't thrilled to hear some of Walker's plans for the protests:

Another lie caught - this time it's poll "dyslexia":
Fox flips poll results to falsely claim Americans support union-busting (link:

Fox "accidentally" flipped the figures in a USA Today poll to meet its own ends. Unsurprisingly. Seriously, this entity does this sort of thing All. The. Time. And they're one of (if not the) top-watched "news" programs.
The original poll is

Officials Will Cut Off State Capitol Office Access (link:

"...The Joint Committee on Legislative Organization voted Wednesday to restrict access to hearing rooms and legislative offices after normal business hours starting Saturday... Protesters have also been sleeping in hallways and in the rotunda since last Tuesday. Those areas will remain open..."

Courtesy of Fox News (Yes, that's what I said), a surprisingly candid interview. Anyone want to fact-check this, because it's damn scary:

It does gel, however, with a lot of Walker's unwillingness to compromise.
Who are the Koch brothers?
Here's an overview by SourceWatch.
The origins of their fortunes include
Josef Stalin and the Bolsheviks in the '20s and '30s, according to multiple sites - I picked Truthdig.com to cite. I have searched for debunking information, have not found it. No, one's forefathers do not necessarily dictate one's own idealogies, but let's not get carried away canonizing anyone either.
Since I have a problem with what the Koch brothers are doing, I'm limiting my consumption of their products as much as possible (which is no mean feat, as they're everywhere.) If you're interested,
here's a list of their companies and products.

The bill affects more than unions and their rights; it's also going to affect the control of medical assistance. (link:
http://bloggingblue.com/2011/02/24/budget-repair-bill-provision-that-affects-1-1-million/ )
"This bill would give the Department of Health Services the ability to rewrite Medicaid policy related to benefits, reimbursement, eligibility, and a wide range of other important aspects. It could impact BadgerCare Plus, Core and Basic as well as Family Care, SeniorCare and Children’s Waivers, among other programs vital to families’ lives."

...AND. If you've made it this far, dayum. *Hands you a stiff drink* Here's one more article that I found relevant in all this mess:
The Madison Mess is a case study in how media are changing, and how that could change what we know - or think we know. That's it. I'm out. (For tonight.)
