Like the Jeffersons...

Finally, it's time to move back into the dorms. I had a great break, but the need to be productive is burning a fire under my ass. It burns strongly, but flickers out pretty quickly.

A lot of people say that freedom is an illusion; I say that it's a Platonic ideal. I think that Nietszche said that the only absolute freedom we have is the freedom of spontaneity. In a sense, that's true, but there are so many shades to freedom, and the more freedoms we achieve, the fewer we realize we have. Think about it.

I suppose that freedom is nothing more than a feeling, and moving back to Madison evokes that feeling. Even though I'll be trapped in class and rehearsals for the better part of the week, and regardless of all of the restrictions dorm life, roommates, and lack of transportation cause, I'll feel free as a bird. It's a great feeling.

Speaking of great feelings, I read this article about how test subjects under a neural activity scan were shown neutral pictures and pictures of their significant other, and when they were shown the latter, it triggered activity in the area that releases dopamine. In other words, love actually gets you high.

I think that's pretty neat.
