Was advised yesterday that the contract at Murrin Murrin has been extended until the end of January.
That's good for the money side of things, and it keeps me busy.
A little bit too busy. There is a multitude of things I wanted to do in January. I miss out on NYE, Southbound festival, and Australia Day. Plus it puts a massive strain on another area of my life at the moment, but I'm trying to manage that the best I can.
I think management have realised just how big the job that we're doing really is. Using a Cat 972H loader to break off lumps of compacted sulphur on a 7 year old established stickpile. Then smash the lumps into bits that will fit through a small hole at the bottom of a hopper (which feeds on to a conveyor). Then put that reasonably good sulphur on to the new stockpile. We've probably moved a couple thousand tonne already. Rough estimate is at least 100,000 tonne still to be moved. And all with the loader.
If management were smart, they'd utilise an excavator and mobile crusher to break off and reduce the lumps to an acceptable size. That would save a lot of time, money and energy. As it is, we make do with the tools we've got. And persevere.
