Speaking of receptions and dances....

The one task I "assigned" to my FH is the reception music and choosing "the songs". He has to pick our song to dance to (since we don't have "a song" in the traditional sense). He warned me that by giving him this task that I would be listening to whatever he wants (we have differing opinions of music genre) and I'm fine with that; I figure I probably won't hear most of it anyway! But...there are a few questions I have about the standard dances (and our variations of such).

Cut for lenght.

First question/dilema
I have 2 dads (hopefully both are coming...) whom I want a father/daughter dance with. FH wants to have a father/daughter dance with each of our daughters (2). He also wants a mother/son dance for him, one for him and my mom and one for me and each of our boys (2). If we do one song each, that's 8 freaking mother/son/father/daughter dances! That seems a bit much to me. But he's adament about having a separate song for each of the kids (for the personal meaning and words of the song). So my question is....would it be rude or silly to have my father/daughter dance at the same time he's doing his (dancing at the same time to the same song so there are only 4)? Should my dads each get thier own song, or could I change partners 1/2 way through?

Second question
What do you think of the "money-dance"? You know, the one were the men pay to dance with the bride? On one hand, I could definately use the few extra bucks...but on the other it almost seems tacky, like I'm begging for money or selling myself at my own wedding! I really am not sure where I stand on this one.

Third (and final) question
What is the order of dances/activities at the reception? Is there anything printed up about that? I mean, I assume you get intro's then the bride/groom first dance. Then do you take a break or go directly to father/daughter dances? Do you cut cake and then do dances or dance and then cut cake...or dance, cake, dance? Do you do certain dances before or after the toasting? I obviously have NO idea! LOL

Geez...it's a good thing I like to dance, huh?

dances: mother/son, dances: father/daughter, dances
