MARRIED

The dear hubby & I got married on a very rainy, chilly March 16 in Fort Mill, SC. Though rain was the last thing I wanted to happen on my wedding day, it was still beautiful and almost everything I could have hoped for. We paid for about 2/3 of the wedding ourselves, the rest came from my mom and his parents.

Refresher on my previous posts here, here, and here.

Instead of picking out the pictures I like the most (impossible, because I love them all), the album is located here. The photography was done by Lotus Creative Studios, so if anyone in the greater Charlotte area needs a great pair of photographers, hire them!

One of the best parts of the entire day was my bridal entrance. Ever since we got engaged, I knew I wanted my entrance song to Jessica's Theme from The Man From Snowy River. However, I hid this from my mom and led her to believe that I had picked something more traditional. I even used the traditional song during our rehearsal. So my mom's reaction to hearing the song she had dreamed of me using was priceless (even if it did make both of us cry!). My father was unable to attend (long story), so my brother escorted me down the aisle.

Instead of serving a meal, we did a cookie/candy buffet. It was a huge hit, and it was made all the more better by the various friends and family who helped make different batches of cookies.

I did do a breakaway bouquet, and it went better than I could have ever hoped. I regret that in all the excitement, we all forgot to get a picture with all the girls who got a flower. :( Still, I at least have some pictures of the actual throw.

There were a few things I wish I had done differently. I would have had some stand guard over our fingerprint tree the entire time. But the girls I asked to watch it abandoned it about 20 minutes after the reception started. As a result, a vindictive aunt ruined it. :/ I also would have speant some more time with our photographers getting some much-desired pictures. But due to the rain and it being rather cold under the awning outside, we cut the session a bit short. I also would have spent more time socializing with our guests. Bad form on my part, hope no one was offended!

All in all, we managed to have a lovely wedding somewhere around the $3K mark. We couldn't have been happier to keep the budget that low!

Thanks so much one and all for the all the advice I received! Truly was a great help!
