We're 250-ish days away from our June 16th wedding and I'm so ready to just buy plane tickets instead. I wanted to elope in the first place, and my FH didn't, and our families didn't, so we aren't. But no one seems to want to help make sure this wedding happens either. My FMIL flipped out back in August, calling me unstable and saying we're rushing into things (been together over 4 years and we're 21 and 24 now, she had kids by then) and being a wench until we actually considered calling it all off. Drama with her is more of an issue than it should be because FH works for his parents. A few weeks after that, I ordered invitations and brought one to my grandma to show her, she said it looked cheap and acted surprised that we're having the reception in her backyard, going off about how she's too old for that (I'd talked with her about it a month or so before that and she was fine, she's fine with it again now).
And of my 3 bridesmaids, K, B, and A, only A lives near me, and I see her almost daily. K lives about 100 miles away and B about 200 miles from me. Since August, K and B have been planning on coming to town this coming weekend to help with favors, dress up the "cheap" invites, and so that all four of us can go dress shopping together. A has two kids, who she has half the week (at their dads' the other half), and the only day that would work for the rest of us for dress shopping is Thursday (during A's half of the week), so I asked her a week ago if she could make that work, and she FLIPPED out at me about how she has kids and how she doesn't want to lose time with her kids and she can't just shuffle them off because of this. She's also been very very difficult when deciding dress styles...I want knee length, chiffon, relaxed sundress styles for them, and she decided she wants tea length, covering her shoulders, with pockets, and structured looking to hide her hips. IDK what to do anymore, I've considered asking her to step down, but B is her sister, so that would cause tension with B I'm sure too and B has been a good friend of mine since middle school.
