Having fun at your own wedding?

Feb 18, 2011 16:03

For those of you that have gotten married, and those of you whose marriages are shortly upcoming, I have a question.

How did you/do you plan to have FUN at your wedding?

I feel really stressed when I think about the day. I'm going to spend the whole time worrying about the cake, about whether the guests find out Roman Pagan/Gnostic ceremony weird, about whether they think our 1875 theme is stupid, about whether they're bored, about whether they have enough booze, etc. etc.

I really, really, REALLY want this to be like prom: I put on a pretty dress, I hung out with my friends, I had a BLAST, and I wasn't nervous or self-conscious. (This may have had something to do with the fact that I was dateless both times.)

Part of me thinks the reason I had such a good time at prom (and that was over 7 years ago), was because I didn't plan any of it, and so I was able to just go to the place and party it up.

But I'm planning this wedding, and I'm worried I won't be able to have fun.

So, former brides, brides-to-be, any advice? I could use some.

advice, stress
