Abby proposed to me last week on the beach at Assateague where we were on vacation. It was a total shock to me (a good one, of course!) so I'm still getting used to the idea of getting married. We are a same sex couple and right now our state does not allow same sex marriage or civil unions (and probably won't until a federal law is passed...), so it's been a little tough trying to figure out what are options are at this point on top of trying to plan the wedding itself. I've been getting a lot of good inspiration from this community though, and I hope to soon be able to contribute a little inspiration of my own! We are financing the whole thing ourselves and we're going through a bit of a bad housing situation right now, so we're waiting to set a date until we are more sure of our finances regarding that. But we're both very excited :) I'll post an actual decent picture of my ring as soon as i've taken one, but she had it custom made based on a ring that belonged to my great grandmother that i gave her when we first started dating. it's gorgeous! ok, enough from me...
