Hi, everyone!!
Through an extended chain of family (my mom's cousin's stepdaughter's in-laws cater), I can get a super cheap caterer that my family can vouch for. However, I have not been able to speak to them directly as my mom's cousin's stepdaughter is acting as a go-between for us and will not give her in-laws (the caterers) my information until she is sure I am committed to them. However, I have not received an estimate yet! That's beside the point. I won't commit until I receive an estimate.
But she is now asking me what I want to eat so she can pass that to her in-laws when she gives them my contact information. I have no idea what goes into planning a wedding menu and I thought I'd have a list to choose from and expand upon from the caterer before I had to start thinking about this. So I'm asking, if you wouldn't mind, that you share your wedding reception menus! DIY included in this request! What did you serve? How many options did you have? What was a hit and what wasn't? Etc. They are doing food only, not drinks or cake. The wedding is in the Traverse City/Manistee, Michigan area on September 3rd, 2011 so it's borderline summer/fall. I think we'd like more of a summery menu, though, than heavy fall foods.
TIA, everyone!
