Hey there ladies and lads,
I'm trying to get my mom on-board with my potluck wedding. After some wheedling on my part, she's starting to think it's doable, but is concerned about logistics.
The basics: We'll be having our reception on September 4th at either my grandmother's or parents' house a few hours after the ceremony. We'll have one fridge and one freezer (and presumably a few coolers) at our disposal, and about 40 guests. We'll be providing two mains: BBQ (hamburgers, hot dogs, marinated grilled tofu) and a regional dish called rappie pie that is either loved or hated, some appetizers, drinks and some desserts.
Now, my questions: Anyone have any tips or tricks to share? Any experiences to recount? And what did you do for out-of-town guests? I'm thinking stuff picked up at the grocery store or booze would be fine contributions.
Thanks in advance! I hope everyone's planning is going well.
