Invites and Rehearsal Dinner

Jun 16, 2010 00:17

So I was able to purchase my invites today.  They are a simple pocketfold, and they are from Walmart.  Yes, a nice pocketfold, from Wal-mart.

Under the cut is a picture of them because I have a question.  I am thinking about adding a ribbon to the left or right side of the invitation mat.  It would be my other color powder/light blue.  The problem is they have this black border on the RSVP and the invitation mat.  WPer's in your opinion should I scrap these mats, get some other card stock and put my blue ribbon, or put said blue ribbon somewhere else.  If so where?

FH has suggested that I put the ribbon across the pocket part wrapping both the front and back.  And he says he likes the outline.  Am I crazy?

2nd:  How do we talk to FH's father about the rehearsal dinner.  He would be feeding no more than 10-15 people, because I would want to keep it specifically to those taking part in the ceremony and my brother and sister, and his sister. We asked about help with paying for the wedding and instead of suggesting how to cut the list (to save costs), they added people, and still offered NO help.  I just feel like I'm asking, and they aren't going to help, even where it is traditionally something they do.
