Honeymoon! and Insurance!! Woo!

According to WeddingWire, we’re 112 days out from our September wedding! I have to say, it’s kind of crazy to see post-wedding posts from all you amazing May brides who I’ve seen posting questions and advice over the past few months... And I guess soon that will be me, too! Yikes!
Anyway, the real point of this post: I think we’ve decided on a honeymoon!
Punta Cana, in the Dominican Republic!
My fiancé and I have traveled together before, and we decided for our honeymoon, we wanted to go somewhere beachy and tropical, and to go to an all-inclusive resort (the less we have to think about, the better). We asked around to family and friends and got a boatload of suggestions, and have been perusing resort websites; we recently found a great deal at the Excellence Resort in Punta Cana.... Has anyone stayed at an Excellence resort before? Any thoughts?
Also, has anyone been to Punta Cana or the Dominican Republic? We’ve never been, and while we’ll mostly be at the resort, I just was wondering if people had any advice or suggestions…
Finally, our wedding (and honeymoon) is this September, smack dab in the middle of hurricane season, but we’ve decided to risk it anyway. Even though I'm just now hearing that we're supposed to have an especially stormy hurricane season (OF COURSE). I was going to contact our insurance company to ask about wedding and travel insurance, just in case. Has anyone else done this? Any average rates for either type of insurance??
