Dress for me, dress for her!
My wedding dress came in!! I must be psychic or something. I was thinking about my dress this week because I couldn't remember when they told me it would be coming in. I called the shop yesterday and they said it was going to arrive July 18th. They called this afternoon to tell me that it had come in!! Take that, Universe!
Also, to make this more than a squee-only post: We also picked out the Flower Girl Dress!
We got the one on the left with the shoulder straps. The dress is really beautiful and made out of a goregous silvery lavender silk dupioni. Very well made and the color is so pretty and elegant for a little girl. It even matches my purple/boysenberry/spiced wine bridesmaid dresses. The bridesmaid dress is below but the color is hard to get an accurate pic of.
Sophia Dress
I really hope it will fit our FG. The smallest size they had of that style we got was a 7 and she is still in a size 6. I've been told there's a big difference between the sizes. But I think the dress will be alterable to her size. We don't need it skin tight on her and she might still grow between now and August; she's five going on six (in September).
Ultimately it's just really good that we (FMIL and I) agreed on this dress. (FMIL has been helping me with all the wedding stuff. My family is all in Philly and I live in St Louis with FH and his immediate family is all here.) We had a big fiasco over it. FMIL wanted to sew it, I wanted to buy it, she thought I was insulting her sewing abilities, I thought she was going FMIL-zilla for not listening to me, etc etc etc. I have been in tears over this and I'm just so glad that it's behind us and we've moved on and are still talking to each other. We also had a funny moment where FMIL and I both separately told FH to stop going between us and let us talk to each other. ha! Great minds, right?
