First piece of news: We have an actual DATE!!!
Which means we also have... A VENUE!!!!!
*grin*
According to mywedding.com, we are 544 days away from our October 16, 2010 wedding date.
So
here's what we've done so far
First of all, this is us! Andre and I have been together for a wonderful 2.5 years.
We haven't gotten engagement pictures done yet, so this is the best picture I've got of us at the moment.
**EDIT**
Forgot to post our wedding website, in case anyone is curious! I've done some work on it since the last time I posted it.
http://www.mywedding.com/andreandjessica/ Next up we have my e-ring and wedding ring set
Sorry for the crappy lighting. I have yet to take a really decent picture of this ring. Take my word for it, though. The stone is a purple sapphire, and it's really pretty in person!
Our ceremony will be here, at the Park Street Church in downtown Boston
The Reception venue: The Commandant's House at the Charlestown Navy Yard. My favorite part about it? As part of the package, we're allowed to take wedding pictures on the USS Constitution.
Of course, then there is the obligatory series of dress pictures
I'm planning on DIYing our paper stuff for the most part. I spent some time working on our STD post cards last week, and after several attempts, I finally came up with something I love. (No stalking please!)
I'm not a huge fan of the picture I used. Hopefully we'll have one of our friends take a better one soon.
I haven't decided whether to print these on white cardstock, or to go with a light green or lilac purple yet. Suggestions?
Now I've run into kind of a problem. I can't make up my mind about a color scheme. Obviously, I have a huge purple addiction, so we all know that's going to be my main wedding color. The problem is that I can't decide what I want to go with the purple. I really want to focus on rich, vibrant colors, because I especially love deep purple. So just incorporating a lighter shade isn't really what I'm looking for.
I found this bouquet, which I really love. I'm in love with the idea of fall colors, but I keep getting argued with by my MOH especially (she's also my little sister, and very opinionated) So far I'm inclined to ignore her and go with it.
My other flower inspiration pic is this one for my girls.
I investigated and found out that calla lilies come in orange, which I think would work really well.
Needless to say, I'm not especially interested in the whole "flower" thing, and I see no reason to spend a fortune on them. I'm thinking I'm going to focus on using garlands of fall leaves for the decorations in the church and the reception venue, since they are markedly less expensive than flowers.
The one other thing we've decided on, which I've know I wanted since we first started talking about the wedding, is the cake. Or rather, the cakes. Plural.
I found this picture in another LJ community, reallifeweddings, I think. We'll have a little "official" cake to cut, and then several other cakes and pies to give people more options.
Okay, I think that's it for now. Thanks for following along!
