My tentative wedding plans for summer 2010!

Hey everyone!

So we are a couple from Texas, currently teaching in Korea, planning a destination wedding in Colorado for Summer 2010. We want to do it in 2010 so we can save up some money, and that we might be back from Korea. Even if we renew our contract, we'll have more vacation days next year as well.

Having gotten marred in Estes this past December... :)

Bridget at Floral Designs of Europe is fairly nice. She is reasonable on prices and friendly, but she is VERY hard to understand and there are communication problems. For that reason, we didn't book her.

We went with Mary at By Design. She was simply amazing to work with. Though, funny story about another vendor prefering Bridget over Mary...but it's all about the flowers being put on the cake (Mary wants to do it so that the flowers don't die, our other vendor, wants to put flowers on it so it doesn't ruin the cake or something).

Anyway.

Our cake was SIMPLY FANTASTIC.(Look! (there's a picture of it on the collage)) and is from Colorado Rose Cake Company which while not located in Estes, serves Estes with no additional fee. (Same goes for Mary, on that account!)

Angela at the Stanley Hotel's Spa is GREAT. But they're pricey. I also did a trial at Classic Hair Design. But while they're prices are reasonable...they're a little weird. As in, "pay for a trial, but I'm not going to let you keep your hair up! Cause OMG you're cheating me out of the real deal!"...but, um, I paid for it? She was weird. And only one girl there does hair...and their makeup artist isn't very "open"--she does what she thinks looks good...which, surprisingly, is about the same colors that would look decent on her. And then when you mention that it's a bit heavy or you'd prefer a different color...she tells you it's because you're not wearing a white gown and it'll wash you out so just trust her!) lol.

There's some super fun things to do in Estes. Sombrero Stables is one of my favorites. There's a wine room, micro brews, fun shopping (check out the antique's places!) and of course, it's simply beautiful up there. But I might be biased. I only live an hour away. :)
