Our situation is a little different as I am an American citizen and he is Australian. I'm not sure what tag immigration stuff like that would be under, so I don't know how many of you are in a similar boat. The plan is for me to move over there by Christmas this year and then get legally married on one of my OCD wedding dates before having a reception at another date.
Because this is only a destination wedding for half of the family, it's kind of tricky. I have four immediate family members who HAVE to come as well as 24 various grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends that I would invite. There's no way they would all come though, which is not a big deal as long as my parents and sister are there, and I imagine at some point we would have a US reception.
I would love to hear from anyone who is dealing with immigration as well as wedding issues and how you are planning a wedding long distance! XD
