I'm getting closer to the time of announcements and invitations and have a question for you all.
Everything I've read says that announcements can go to everyone and invites just go to guests. They say announcements can contain a link to your website which contains a link to, among other things, your registry. We have a small Amazon list, (we're both over 30 and already have towels and china), and a honeymoon seed fund so there is no set amount to spend on anything and a wide range of options.
So my question...has anyone run into an issue with people who get announcements getting bent out of shape that they don't get an invite? My wedding is incredibly small for financial reasons. We each get about 4-6 guests, (because of couples), so the invite list is 99.7% immediate family. We want to be able to inform our friends, but we don't want them to assume they're on the invite list and get crabby if they buy us a picture frame and don't get invited. I have a very difficult time asking for gifts in the first place and the whole thing leaves me shaking in my boots.
Any advice?

Here is the site in progress. As you can see, there is a registry but its mostly about who we are and where we came from so our respective families-in-law can get to know us. The registry isn't at all prominent.
