Potluck Wedding
My fiance and I have been talking about our budget. We want to have a big wedding with lots of people, and we want them to be able to eat and drink the night away in a grand old fashion.
Of course, feeding that many people a meal can get REALLY costly.
We were thinking that perhaps we could have a reception where we provide the drinks, cake, and a main dish of food and then we could ask our friends who live in town to bring a dish. We've had countless large parties where we've done something similar, and usually people were more than happy to bring an item.
Do you think this would be offensive?
Do you know of any alternatives? (not like a dessert reception or cocktail reception, we really do want to have people be able to eat)
