Hi planners!
So..I never quite understood what the whole gushing over Maggie gowns was all about...until I tried some on!
Friday I went with my Mom to a small bridal boutique near us,
Modern Bride and Formal Shop in Bedford NH.
The girl who helped us was lovely. It was Friday morning around 10:30 AM so it was very quite and relaxed. I tried on about 8 gowns (no pictures allowed) and the 2 I liked the most were Maggie's Anastasia, and a Jasmine dropped waist ivory gown that had speghetti straps..don't remember the style. However, I really didn't want a strapless gown, as much as the Maggie dress was stunning. I loved that Anastasia had the corset back, and the lace was elegant without being overbearring.
So the following day I had an appointment at
Marry and Tux in Nashua, NH. When we first walked in it seemed like a madhouse (Saturday at 11:30). However! We were brought downstairs to the BIG showroom and were literally the only people in there! It was so relaxed. Me, my Mom, and sister picked out a few dresses. The first dress I saw and wanted to try on turned out to be a Maggie.
After trying on quite a few dresses and feeling "too fancy" (which is what I kept saying), I insisted on re-trying that first gown again...
And I fell in love with Maggie Sottero's Lilly!! I didn't think I would buy yesterday but I did as they were having a 10% off sale JUST for the weekend. I purchased it in light gold/diamond white. No pictures of me in it as they didn't allow.. but the model is below. It's just enough fanciness for me without making me feel like a live Barbie doll. I'm so excited that my wedding dress is ordered. AND yesterday was exactly 9 months to the day from our wedding. Good karma, I hope!
So has anyone else worn this Maggie? Just curious to see other gorgeous brides in this gorgeous gown!
