VistaPrint STD's

So after we had our engagement photos last week, I was able to put our Save-The-Dates together.  I was really waffling on how I wanted to have them printed, only that I wanted them to be cheap.  I was going back and forth between printing them myself, going to Magnet Street or Vistaprint.  I loved magnet Street - but the cost was higher than I wanted to spend.  Doing my own seemed time consuming.  And I just didn't love any of Vistaprint's templates - nor did they have a cost effective magnet.

So I did the best of all three worlds.  I went into my Photoshop Elements and made a super simple design incorporating one of our engagement photos that was a favorite among our friends and family.  Then I uploaded it for a Vistaprint standard postcard printing ($30 for 100, front and back printing for an approximate 4x5" card).  The back printing had a space for a strip of magnet and included our hotel block information for out of towners.

I was a little concerned when I did this that Vistaprint wasn't going to do as good of a job with printing my uploaded design.  I had no foundation of those fears, just that it wasn't one of their standard templates they had.  Turns out, they did a GREAT job with the quality!  For being such a cost-effective website, they do a fabulous job of printing.

I did purchase rush shipping - we have an April wedding so I needed to get on the ball with this.  They shipped it Friday via DHL and I had them yesterday (Monday) before lunch.  Last night I added magnets to the back and put them in my pre-addressed envelopes.  Voila - instant magnet at a great price.

If you do magnets on your own, I would highly recommend this route.  I bought 2 rolls of strip magnets and a roll of scrapbooking glue dots.  Sometimes the magnet sticky backing doesn't stick very well but the glue dots REALLY make it stick.  And it holds up a postcard on the fridge perfectly.
