Our vegan wedding!

We got married on Sept. 5th this year... here are some photos of the all-vegan reception we hosted. I made pretty much all of the food! (I'm a baker)

Vegan cookies, cupcakes, tartlets, petit fours, scones, homemade jams, sandwiches, and crackers.

Orange shortbread and Peanut-Sesame-Ginger cookies from veganomicon!

Blackberry lavendar scones with four kinds of homemade jam: strawberry with pinot noir and spices, strawberry with fresh spearmint and black pepper, blackberry vanilla, and blueberry with pinot noir and licorice. In the background you can see strawberry almond tartlets! (There are three other kinds of scones you cannot see: orange scones, chocolate chip cherry scones, and wheat-free pear and walnut scones.)

Four kinds of vegan cupcakes: wheat-free earl grey chocolate with caramel chocolate ganache, caramel apple, green tea, and chai latte.

Petit fours from veganyumyum and coconut tarlets with caramel chocolate ganache and almonds dipped in caramelized sugar.

The petit fours were lemon cake filled with strawberry-pinot noir jam and marzipan. They are topped with some fantastic dark chocolate and vegan sugared flowers.

and here's a few great photos of us during the ceremony:

We got married in a family-only ceremony at this fantastic statue of a troll across the street from our house. I made myself a sparkly purple skirt. The ceremony was fabulous and stress-free. After the ceremony we went out to dinner at our favorite restaurant, Cafe Flora. The next day we had our reception at Ian's sister's house.

Our honeymoon was a week at a Pacific Northwest beach and then another week touring a bunch of breweries in Oregon (we're both homebrewers and we love beer).

Lastly, he took my last name. We live in WA and haven't had any trouble thus far with the process. (A few family friends seem to have gotten "angry" at us about it, but legally there hasn't been any trouble).

It was exactly what we wanted - simple, "us," and stress-free! You may think that all of the baking would have been stressful, but it's my passion and I had a fabulous time.
