You will not believe this vendor
So this is a longish story, but it is funny so I promise it is worth the read.
I did not care about chairs for my beach wedding, but my mother was concerned about our elderly guests so I agreed we would have them. We decided to just get one for everyone so I contacted company P* about this. I also asked for a tent to get dressed in, as my mother and I agreed it would be a good idea for me to dress on the beach so my dress would stay clean.
I was told this in Dec by R*:
$3 for the white chairs with pads, very cute (100 chairs, $300)
$2 a chair set up fee (100 chairs to be set up, $200)
$75 delivery fee
$150 for dressing cabana
Total = $725
I asked for an inventory of what they had to rent and heard nothing for months, so I was just waiting on them before booking.
It is getting close so I sent them a message saying I was ready to book on June 30th.
A few days later I get a response from K* asking for my wedding location and date.
I sent them a copy of my original quote and waited for a response, asking if they had an aisle runner.
On July 11th K* sent me an email, that was meant for someone else, on accident, I let K* know this, but at least I knew they were checking on prices for me.
On July 19th with no word from them I try two new companies I found. One happened to be a sister company of P and told me to contact them, I said I had already and they were slow to respond, the next day K* responds, apparently not remembering our previous emails.
First problem: Delivery went up from $75 - $125
Second problem: The chair set up went from $2 to $3 a chair
Third problem: The dressing cabana went up from $150 to $300
I ask about each thing and I get these responses:
First- "talked to R* and he has had to go up on delivery prices with the gas situation like it is." - Fine, I understand
Second-"additional [charge] for them to be set up at the beach on the sand." - Not okay, I told him from day one it was on the beach on sand.
Third- I talked to R* about the cabana and the $150.00 quote that he gave you earlier was for just the tent with no sides. - Not okay, he was going to rent me a dressing cabana with no sides!?!?!?!
At this point with these not raised, but "corrected" prices I am being charged $300 more than quoted.
I am so annoyed with them I just want to trash the whole chair for everyone idea. I can rent 20 metal chairs for $.50 a piece from the base and bring them down myself. My cousin could set up like 20 and then we could just leave it at that. I just feel lied to and pissed off they wouldn't respond to me in a reasonable amount of time and gave me all bad information. But it makes me laugh to think I would have rented a dressing cabana with no sides. ><; I hope you enjoyed my vendor horror story. Unless they really kiss my ass and give me the original prices for the stuff I think we will do the base chairs.
