172 days to go - update

Finally found a store with a good amount of supplies to make our handfasting cord. I highly recommend JoAnn Fabrics. Interestingly enough, the women behind the counter cutting the cords asked me what I was doing and when I told her she went into great detail about her own handfasting ceremony last year. The older lady behind me seemed a little weirded out by it. Oh well. We've decided to go with one woven cord for our ceremony. The colors correspond to his tartan, plus a few extra colors. Still have to finish the ends, not sure how yet, and I think I'm going to look for some Celtic charms to add as well. Pics behind the cut.

This picture shows the weaving that my wonderful FH helped with.

Then we wove a gold sequined sorta trim through the middle and wrapped a green ribbon around the whole thing.

On another note, I went home to NH this past weekend to help my mom and brother move. When I got back up to VT there was a letter in my mailbox saying my dress was in. But guess what, the shop is in NH! THe letter was dated last Wednesday, why couldn't they have called!? I have to take yet another day off of work now. I knew this was going to happen. I almost called them last week too! Argh.
