Aisle Runners

So, I've been kicking around the idea of an aisle runner.  We are getting married in a park pavilion which has a cement floor.  Normally, I wouldn't even mess with an aisle runner, but the more I think about it, the more I worry about my train.  It's 100% lace.

I made my own, it was super easy, and completely inexpensive. I bought the fabric on clearance at walmart for $1 a yard. We got 11 yards.

She said "I bought the fabric on clearance at walmart", so I don't think she got it at Michaels. :-)

Yes, Michaels sells aisle runners - but they rip quite easily. :-(

That looks awesome! Do you have much sewing experience or did you use a specific DIY instructions? I don't have much sewing experience. Mainly just fixing rips in clothing, that's it.

We used iron-on hem/fuseable webbing up both sides. we just decided how wide we wanted it and hemmed the sides with that. it took about 2 hours... what's great is we got to make it as wide as we wanted, seeing as most store-bought aisle runners are about 35" wide, and I know my dress will be much poufier than that. :)

Awesome! Thanks for the info! I should have no problem making the runner the same way you made yours! No sewing, woo-hoo! lol
