I'm going to be HONEST. PRICE what it would be to do the different cruises paying for them separately. Many many times it's actually cheaper if you pay for it separately especially if you take advantage of discounts (many can be found on www.wdwinfo.com or www.tourguidemike.com)
We're doing this as well, it's our compromise for not having a Disney wedding. But we're going to the Grand Floridian for 4 nights, then on the 7 day western Caribbean, then back to POFQ for 4 more nights before driving home :)
we're trying to keep it ~week, and FH thought just a regular cruise like princess or norwegian would get boring for 7 days straight of cruising, so he found the land/sea package with DCL. i've read it's good for 1st time cruisers so they can see how they actually fare on cruises.
You're right, the 3 and 4 day cruises ARE good for first time cruisers. But what I'm telling you is many times it's actually cheaper to price the 3 or 4 day cruise and then price the 3 or 4 days at Disney. While many times they can be comparable, it's often cheaper to pay seperately.
Oh, and the long honeymoon is the compromise for not being able to have our wedding at Disney. It was all planned and everything, and then my family decided to boycott going down there. Shitheads.
