So I have been reading a lot about critical theory in education for one of my classes and learning about how the school system, as a vehicle of cultural reproduction, perpetuates the current power structure in which whites are at the top with privileges that keep them at the top and other races are silenced and disempowered, unable to chance their status in life because of the varied and complex dynamics at work in society.
Once you have wealth, it's easier to accumulate more. But what about if there is a gap in wealth and your ancestors over the past two hundred years have not had wealth?
