Yes, it has been a long long time since I've posted. But I could name some others on my friends list who haven't posted in a while (*cough*ashley*cough*). I mean, Keri's got ADD when it comes to posting, but most of the rest of you can be pretty lax! So lay off me! I also just realized that both posts before this one start off with "Oh man!" AAAAAAAhahahhahahaha. I don't know why that's funny, but it is.
Yes, Errol, I am posting now.
Anderson is playing Lego Star Wars. The best thing about that game is that when you kill somebody, they just fall apart into a bunch of lego pieces. Makes me giggle.
One of my contacts is fuzzy.
I got a new, cute, short haircut, that I will have to take a picture of and post so you can all see.
I skipped school today so that I could have a four day weekend instead of just a three day weekend. And even though I have extra days off, I don't think I'm going to go anywhere. Just to the in-laws to swim and maybe to the mall. And no, I'm not going to talk about school at all because I so hate it and wish I didn't. Maybe it's having 29 ninth graders in a room? Who knows. I just want to go back to school and study modernist poetry and get my masters and maybe have a baby or something. But I've got to finish this school year at least and then move somewhere cool that's not Meridian. I've got a subscription to Poetry magazine right now that's making me all nostalgic for Dr. Barron.
We went and saw Beerfest last night, which to me, from the previews, looked like it would be really dumb. Plus the name, you know. But it's by the guys who did Super Troopers, which I love (yes, I love it, and without shame!), so we went to see it. It did have a lot of funny moments. I don't think I'm going to run out and buy it or anything, but it was fun and we loled.
Today I made Chex mix and it's pretty durn tasty. See how I didn't use a comma there between two independent clauses? Who says you have to? I do, in class, but do you? I dunno. Grammar is so subjective. But I've learned more of it since I've started teaching.
Book recommendations:
The Book Thief - set during Hitlerism, narrated by Death, the words are great
When the Emperor Was Divine - also during WWII (didn't do that on purpose), about Japanese internment camps, but very visual, very personal, haven't finished it yet; feng shui words
The Human Stain - very pretentious, lots of unnecessary big words, annoying, academic, but ultimately interesting. Especially the Vietnam guy in the Chinese restaurant.
Going to Hudson's now, bye!
