In my recent past, I took a tour of veganism, and absolutely loved it. I'd love to go back to it once I had the money.
While experimenting with new things, I found stuff out.
I also discovered some amazing things that I would suggest EVERYONE try.
I tried doing this to my vegetarian cousin, and her response was "well I'm vegetarian, I don't need to eat vegan stuff."
I just sat there, dumbfounded.
No.
REALLY?
You're vegetarian, so that means you don't have to eat vegan stuff? WOAH. I fucking suggested an amazing pizza to you and you turned it down because it was vegan and not vegetarian? FOR REELZ?
Anyway....
Idiocy aside, there are some really good things out there that I think everyone should try! So I'm going to make a short list of the things I learned while being vegan.
1.) Veggie cheese is TO DIE FOR. It is not technically vegan, I found out. To my dismay, it has milk protein added to it. I believe everyone should try veggie cheese, because its less than half the calories of regular cheese, and it tastes like cheese. Its the only cheese I eat now.
2.) Vegan cheese is TERRIBLE. I could eat veggie cheese plain. Like, unwrap it, and eat it with some grapes. I tried this with vegan cheese and it was awful. Who would have thought that milk protein would make such a huge difference? I then proceeded to only eat vegan cheese on my veggie burgers.
3.) Gardenburger brand Portabella veggie burgers are also TO DIE FOR. I also found out after the fact that they are not vegan :P. But hey, delicious! I'd honestly take one of those any day above any regular burger with the one exception being an In N Out Cheeseburger with Onion, no tomato.
4.) Dryers all natural acai berry popsicles are delicious <3. These don't matter that they're vegan. I went on a whole foods kick, and got these. They do have "natural flavors" added, which can be not-so-natural, but it was worth it.
5.) Organic Peanut Butter FTW. I will not go back to regular peanut butter. Also, I recently found out that if you stir it up real good and then stick it in the fridge, it solidifies with out separating! Making it much more the consistency of regular peanut butter!
6.) Silk milk is good in cereal but not really in anything else.
