Such a good movie. I saw it with Nick and I had like... a death grip on him the whole time. I was so glad that he was there and OK ( Read more... )

I was debating on whether to see it or not since all I keep hearing from people is 'oh, he'll ruin it since he always does his own take on history', but after reading the reviews on Hollywood.com and RottenTomatoes.com and now hearing that you liked it, I think I'll definitely go see it. I've never had a problem with Stone's movies and I adore Maggie Gyllenhaal. I was very upset when it initally happened to. I've always loved NYC so it really hit me seeing it attacked like that and then hearing about the lives of these people that died. Did you ever see the HBO special on it? They showed footage of people actually jumping from their offices...like the 70th story or so. I started bawling when I saw that. I mean, I can't imagine being in a position where you think jumping is better than staying where you are. Truly horrific. :(

I have no intention of seeing it. I feel it's too soon for any of these movies. I watched a commercial for a show I believe it was, and it displayed kids drawings of Sept.11. There were so sad, I was crying and that was just a commercial!! One had the statue of liberty crying and in her tears were drawings of the towers, planes..etc., another where people were jumping out of the towers.
I will never get the image of the towers coming down out of my head, the plane flying into the pentagon and it's something I choose not to subject myself to anymore right now. It's shown on tv damn near everyday, and that's one big reason I keep mine turned off.
I can't believe it's been almost 5 years now.

Yeah, I thought I would handle it better, since they don't show much about the event itself throughout most of the movie, but that ending... :(

I know. Almost 5 years. Wow

I don't think I can see it either - seems too soon, and I know I would be too emotional. Maybe I'll rent it, I don't know... I agree about the pasage of time - it really seems like it just happened.
