My birthday Wednesday...
Well, things didn't go exactly as planned, but I had a great time...
First, I got this cool massaging backrest from Brookstone from Kayla. It comes in handy while I'm in bed with my laptop on LiveJournal or chatting! Thank you Kayla!
And thanks and big hugs to everyone who sent me birthday wishes and greetings!
krizsa and I didn't make it to Malibu. Instead, narrowminded was getting off work early, so we waited for him and decided to go eat somewhere in Hermosa Beach instead. Well, first we wanted to go to Ragin Cajun, but it turned out they close at 1:30, not to re-open until the evening for dinner (It was about 1:45 pm at the time). Being in the mood for cajun food, I suggest the New Orleans Cajun & Creole place down the street. Well, it is closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays! Ok, forget cajun, how about Italian? We see Italy's Little Kitchen down the street.... and not open until 5 pm! Argh! At this point Kayla called, and suggested we get Chicken Dijon to go and eat at our house. So that's what we did. By this time, I had to cancel my gym date with Melicious as we were planning to go at 3 but it didn't look like I was going to make it.
narrowminded and krizsa left, and I hung out with Kayla for a while. At night, narrowminded and krizsa came back to my house to pick me up and we went to TJ Charlyz for karaoke (Kayla wasn't feeling well, so she stayed home).
So get this... at the Dungeon last Saturday night, I saw this girl on the stage, almost naked and getting whipped, and I recalled that she looked a lot like a girl that I used to see at karaoke at TJ Charlyz and other locations nearby quite a bit. Figuring in my somewhat sleepy state of mind at the time that the odds against that particular person being in this place at this time were pretty low, especially considering I hadn't seen her in over a year, I just chalked it up to deja vu and didn't even mention it. Well imagine my surprise, when at TJ Charlyz, in walks the girl's boyfriend (now fiancé) whom I also hadn't seen in over a year, and krizsa says, hey that guy was at the Dungeon! And her too! as she points to the girl I had seen. What a small world! And how amazing that they picked this particular night to come to karaoke when they hadn't been down to karaoke here in over a year (they live in Pasadena now)! I talked to her and him and told them we had seen them Saturday night, and the five of us hit it off pretty well. We hung out at the beach after karaoke was finished. The girls got into bikinis and played around in the ocean. They invited us to a bbq at their place in Pasadena Saturday, so we will probably be going there and going to the Dungeon again Saturday night.
