LJ Meetup
Last night I went to the Torrance LiveJournal Meetup. I was not expecting too much because only 6 people RSVP'd and I was looking at the Hollywood and Orange County Meetups and seeing that a lot more people were going to those. So I was thinking, should I blow off the Torrance one and go to one of the others? I knew cixel and misskris were going to be at the Orange County one. But I decided to go to the Torrance one (with the address for the Orange County one memorized in case no one showed up!) Well, I'm glad I went because I got to meet 3 very nice (and cute) girls. When I got to the South Bay Grill, lilhlfpint was sitting outside all by herself, and asked me if I was here for the livejournal meetup. I said yes, and sat down, and we talked for a bit. A few minutes later sjcarpediem and mandapandabear came out and asked us if we were here for the LJ meetup, and we said yes. So the four of us got to know each other a little bit. After a while, I suggested that we should should all go to the Orange County meetup, as I called cixel and found out there were 17 people over there. As all of us except for me were from Long Beach, so they were closer to Orange County than I.
While on the way over, I got a call from paladinpoet, who was also at the Orange County Meetup, and said that they were going to migrate from the Starbucks to the Spoons restaurant down the street on Tustin Ave. So I called sjcarpediem and told them we were going to Spoons instead of Starbucks. When we got to Spoons, I saw a whole lot of people I didn't know. miss_geek, trinx, vegmom, lnorigb, kameleon, sooz, glazedlife, dipster, hyphen8d, and liesalllies were all there.
cixel, misskris, paladinpoet were still at the Starbucks, apparently waiting for me (I THOUGHT I told them I was going to go straight to Spoons, but there was a miscommunication, heh). So they, along with jamezy, joined us later. Finally, malevolent_kidd showed up. We drank, we ate, we talked, we laughed, we had fun. We all went around the table and introduced ourselves by telling our name, our LJ name, and how many people on our friends list.
All in all, it was a pretty successful event, and for all the people I didn't know before, I'm glad to have made your acquaintance, and look forward to seeing you at future events!
