Went to see Valkyrie. Movie was decently done, I appreciated the use of imagery.
People in the theatre were not decently done. Let me gloss over the 3 cellphone jerks, because that sort of thing is kind of inevitable. What was a little more surprising was the toddler.
Right before the movie started, from the seat right behind me, I heard a baby whimper. My brain sort of did that thing it always does on the train: "Oh, I don't want to be stuck next to a screaming baby, oh, well, it's not the baby's fault, and sometimes parents have to...
Then I remembered where I was. No, actually they don't have to bring a small child to a war movie that starts at 9:30 pm. That child should not have been there, not so much because he was disturbing the rest of the audience, but because a three year old does not need to see explosions on the big screen. Get a baby sitter, or don't go.
Am I off base here?
