banksy whitewashed
now, i'll admit my confliction reguarding the undoubtedly talented mr banksy (website: http://www.banksy.co.uk )
while i admire his work (he stenils rats, say no more) i also understand that some people may not appriciate his work, all part of artistic taste and such. his medium is graffiti, and so he draws on walls that are not his, nor has permission. but this paticular piece was enjoyed by many people, and not exactly his most controversal (see the queen victoria artwork....).
personally, i think the council should perhaps concentrate on the rather more medicore grafiti with little to no artistic merit, ie, stacy loves ralph 4eva.... i wouldn't mind if grafiti evolved to something with a bit more thought behind it, even if i didn't agree with the sentiments.
now if you'll excuse me, i think i'm going to take some chalk out to the street...
