Knowing me, do you really believe that I'm making my decision to teach in full knowledge of it dooming me to a life of bachelordom? Please. You and I both know not all women care about bank accounts. But you'd be a fool to think it doesn't come up

Sorry, I forgot to sign my name (Erin, by the way), though I imagine you figured it out on your own. Anyway, your first sentence about teaching and bachelordom doesn't make any sense to me. I think you're making the decision (hopefully) because it's something you want to do, and I want to reiterate what Bridget said about most male teachers ending up married; it's true, at least in my experience. Gena's right about being expected to support a woman at 22, and Corrin's right about all the stuff she said (I just woke up, I'm too groggy to remember it all). Yes, you have had experiences and conversations that have made you feel better about women in general; so why do you continue to make blanket statements like the one that started all this?
Regardless, I think you have a bright future ahead of you. You're smart, driven, creative, hilarious, and caring, and you'll find a way (even if by accident) to be successful, happy, and married. You're awesome, and I love ya.

Stop being silly. The vast majority of male teachers somehow manage to get married. AMAZING BUT TRUE!
I love you, you goofball.
