I am crap at taking pictures and really admire those that can do it well. It is a fairly hard thing to do, you have to have an artistic bone somewhere.
I adore black and whites, any subject, although my favorites are kids. Especially my grand kids.
My mom and grandmother always took a million photos when I was growing up. Being the contrary child that I was, I wanted nothing to do with it. It wasn't until the past couple of years that I really got into seeing my photography as more of an art rather than just documenting where I've been.
I want to start taking more black and whites. I tend to shy away because I find them a bit daunting. With a black and white it's all about the composition and subject. No pretty colors to distract folks. :)
I have to say that I was already impressed after I saw your photos of the DC weekend last February, and, having been to Vancouver myself this year I loved your Vancouver pictures too. Having just had a browse through the above link I will say that in my opnion you already take professionally quality photos and your shots really are stunning, you certainly have the artistic flair for taking a goos quality, well composed photograph.
Aww...thanks Sue. I was looking back through some of the DC photos and really would love to go back and take more pictures there. (I'd love to do a fangirl hangout again with everyone too, regardless of the place.)
I've been to DC three times now, but I was inspired to buy a new camera this year, prior to going to Vancouver in April, and even I take much better pictures with the new camera (although not up to your standard) so woud love to go again as I know, which shots I would love to recapture. I'd be up for another fangirl hangout again too if there ever was one, it really was such fun meeting up with everyone.
