This guy came into work today and said he wanted to purchase a Camcorder for his brother, who was leaving for Venezuela. We don't sell camcorders at my location so I told him this and he started looking at digital cameras. He points to one and asks me how it is, I told him, "good". He says, "give me one of those". Without even looking at it. So I tell him about all the add-ons for it, we get to the register, I told him the amount. He gave me an American Express card that he made himself, I guess it was a pretty good attempt, but I could tell. So I ask for his ID. He gives it to me, again it's fake. So I tell him that I have to call in the card because it's not going through on the register. He gets a little ancy and tells me just to forget about it. I tell him it will only take a second. Then he gets a little hostile and orders me to give his id back. He then asks me why I won't give it back to him, I proceed to tell him, because it's fake. He tells me it's not, what a surprise. So I tell him that I'll call the police and they will give the cards back to him, he asks me why I'm doing this to him, he was just trying to buy a camera. Once I had PBSO on the phone he ran out of the store, hopped in his truck and left, not before I got his license plate though. But that was probably fake too, it was a temp tag, so he could have easily made that at home as well.
Got to go to work, will continue later...
