Bernard..... LIVES!?

Um, yeah. I like this, I guess you could call it a 'style', it emulates how I work with pencils so much more than anything else. Die SMOOTHLIKEAGODLINEART die! I'm going to try and stick with it this time. For real. I'll try. And please beat me with a stick if I stray...

Oh dear... It's poor Bernard. He never did get a ref-sheet to go with his headshot: http://splitcat.deviantart.com/art/Bernard-saw-128950302 I think I went a little overboard on his personality and weirdness. So, toning it down. For my and your sake.
This is Bernard Caesar Toler commonly known as Bernard or BC. He could be around 26-28ish. He is the leader of 'The Flock' and one of the founding members of the little gang. He may be the Leader but he really doesn't lead very well (as evidenced by various scrapes, bruises and scars) at times.
Bernard has an odd-deformity sticking straight out of the back of his head.As if his brain suddenly was too large and his skull reshaped Itself to fit. The younger (and more impressionable) members of the Flock think is a God-Gift. Maybe it is, maybe it ain't. The beak of the deformity used to open and close involuntarily at moments. However, Bernard had it (painfully) stapled shut almost 2 years after The Big-Gig. Whatever It was trying to say we'll never know and BC isn't talking about it.
I'm still building his world and the Flock. I'm going to attempt to RP it out but do y'all have any suggestions to add to his character? I'll also ask, just for a bit, if someone would quickly sketch him out as I'm having trouble with his hair. I like the Day 1 sketches but... I just can't reproduce it right. It would help greatly to see someone else's take on his wacky hair. Basically, the line of It's beak stretchs to just above his ears. It is bony and without skin for most of what protrudes from Bernards' skull.
And my question is: Best sandwhich in the world? (mine is either a grilled PB N' Bannana or a Hamburger with fried onions, olive tapenade, and gorgonzola cheese) :P
