Almost Christmas

Well, we're getting closer to getting ready to leave for the new-house in Colorado. We thought it would be great to go up and have a bunch of family up there. We leave on the 17th/18th and it takes 3 days to get there. We need a permit to go cut down a Christmas tree and...I'm excited. It's going to be great having a big Christmas for a change. I mean, sure our little family Christmases were fun but....when I watch those Christmas specials where the host family has a boat-load of relatives come and visit, idk. I get kind of sad that we live too far away for family gatherings. Before we moved to Illinois we lived in Omaha, NE and we always went over for Christmas Eve Dinner at my Dads' parents house. Oh, but when Grandpa and Grandma Smith came to visit us in Illinois one Christmas... that was so special. One of the last times they came before their health declined. :3 Grandpa was so funny about Christmas Breakfast and he kept sending my Mom back into the kitchen to cook his waffles more and more until they were dry that way he could DRENCH the poor thing in syrup. Grandma was really kind that year and I had far too much fun talking with her. I miss having people come and visit us for the holidays. This year will be special. *excited*

Um, we'll be there for my birthday too, which is on the 29th mind you, and should be fun. Btw, I like birthday art.... *shifty-eyes*

So! My question/s before I go away for the holidays are:

When does your family open presents? Christmas Eve, Christmas Day or a little of both? What's your favorite holiday memory?

Stay safe and sound this Christmas and I wish you a Happy New Year too,
~Weaver
