I haven't said this before but Thirsk Veterinary Care could not have been more wonderful and compassionate when I had to have Daisy put to sleep. Jimmy who got onto the floor with Daisy then got her a towel 'as she shouldn't be lying on a cold floor'. Because she'd had the falls the day before he didn't want to risk her falling off the examination table. He got onto the floor with her, when she couldn't stand anymore and lay on the ground, he got right down over her to be with her. He'd brought me a chair into the examination room to sit on, then moved it so I would be right up to the table to be with Daisy. He then went to get her a rug so she would be warm and comfortable for her passing. Procedure explained throughout. Daisy was treated with extreme compassion and care, as was I. When she was going, he said I believe she is no longer aware of us..... But he Still kept stroking her. Monitoring under her chin, but Stroking and fussing her with his other hand. After she passed, he said touched "Oh. She has a daisy on her collar". He then got me a little glass jar with a wooden heart on and clipped some of her for me as a treasured keepsake. He wrapped her up as gently as possible. We were in there about 45 minutes, and not once were we were rushed, we were given all the time in the world to say goodbye. I have never experienced such compassion for the passing of a beloved pet, and Jimmy had never met me or Daisy before that day. I thought they couldn't get any more compassionate. And then this condolence card arrived from them today. Outstanding veterinary care. My beautiful Daisy was buried on Thursday with her friends here with catmint, roses, lilac, and beautiful pink flowers all from the garden and a Lickilix.
It was the most beautiful passing I have ever seen ❤️
Rest in Peace Daisy until we meet again ❤️
