Samhain was nice. My parents came round, I lit the fire and we chatted. When they'd gone I did my own ritual, both indoors and outdoors. Of course they'd come round to escape the hoards of village kids who eat them out of house and home when it comes to trick or treating. Tilly also managed to get absolutely ratted again and rang and texted me several times an hour from 5.30pm until he must have fallen asleep since he went quiet about 8.30pm! During the calls he was just talking just out loud, utter nonsense and Rosie could hear him so she stayed listening to him on the phone, occasionally rubbing herself against the phone till the signal got cut off. He has no recollection of the weekend whatsoever. I wonder if he'll ever really mature, he is 50 next year so i doubt it!
E-mailed the uni, after seriously thinking about it this entire weekend, I cannot possibly manage the 'Understanding Human Environments in British Prehistory' course. It requires real heavy intelligent brain power, which I haven't got, so have opted for the more understandable,'The Archaeology of Britain: The Iron Age, 800BC-AD43.' I will definately have more TMJ uncontrollable pain in the near future and my concentration levels aren't great normally, so I have made the right decision based on known factors now and in the future. Naturally, like my buggered up enrollment form they have not got back to me. I'll try for the Human Environments one next year. Hopefully.
Rosie and I went for a short walk yesterday evening, she had great fun chasing leaves and squirrels, though I'm sure the squirrels have never had anything chase them part way up a tree before! Called across to Jenny Wren from the woods, only when she turned round, it wasn't Jenny at all. Piglet, (she of the damaged foot) is in her field and now Jenny has gone! Red Lady seemed a little put out, Jenny has been her constant companion and teeth cushion for at least eight months. And behind me in the paddock that backs straight onto my garden, the explanation of the deafening neighing has been solved. It seems to reverberate throughout the house! One of the mums and her daughter is in there, with another foal who I know is not hers. It used to be musical gates down here, now its musical horses.
I had a good day yesterday, heard the R4 afternoon play which was really good (but why are they often so sad?) then my mum rang to say that R2 was doing a Hanock evening, so caught most of that which was good doing some Yule stitching and making bonfire toffee (most of which I've now eaten :| :D )and just as I was getting in the bath Giles Wembbley Hogg series 2 started back on R4 which was a great surprise. I laughed so much that Rosie came in to see me in the bath, peered round the corner with a peculiar expression, then went off to beat up Susie. Ah well, can't have it all :D
