Actually I have had a day that I have thoroughly enjoyed. I have really missed seeing Tilly since he went back to driving the wagons, now it seems he can only manage an hour or so at the weekends to come and visit me and I can't ring him because it's a mobile in the wagon and costs a bomb :( But today he came here and took me through to Northallerton where we had a look round Woolies and Argos (he nearly passed out at the size of the queue and decided not to join it!) and then I finally got him to the garden centre :) I got a new fat ball feeder that is hopefully squirrel proof since the squirrels can break into almost every feeder type going including many stated as squirrel proof! I also got a CD of Celtic Music and he treated me to both of these items which I thought was lovely. Then we went on to Calverts to have a look at rugs as I'd love a small bright warming one for the front room here, the rug in here is a Tigger rug (!) that's seen better days and is covered with scourch marks from when burning coals have fallen out in the past and set fire to it!! I found one I really like but wanted to think about it and raid my coppers pot first too :D
On the way back here I noticed that the hills had vanished and then some of them reappeared, covered with snow. It's been odd that this area so prone to snow hasn't had any this time! Naturally I got photos of the snow covered hills :D
Anyway got back here, made him a cuppa and a sandwich and then he was off :( Still it was really nice to see him, have a natter and go out somewhere too. Other than the bank holiday markets we don't do that and other than my parents he's the only one who takes me out anywhere. But I enjoyed today so that was nice. We saw those dodgy looking people again down here, so I can only assume embarrased like that they must live in one of the cottages on the estate! Still as long as they don't read this and recognise their own description then I'm ok LOL
I've been sorting and tidying things and trying to come up with ideas for my wardrobe for the piss-artist that is Tobacco. The back of the wardrobe has mould on it as has unfortunately my very old boots which have turned green and brown with mould :( The walls here have no insulation and so all outside walls are freezing, and anything left near them smells musty. They don't normally mould up so that's a bugger really. They were second hand when I got them and were made by Drapers of Glastonbury, who hand make their sheep fleece lined boots - and still charge less new than many boots you'd find in normal show shops! I've had them six years and am loath to part with them but I'm not sure what to do with them now :S
And I've just had a thought, each of the three areas that the cats have peed in have had mould growing there (airing cupboard carpet, leaking loo, wardrobe). I wonder if a smell from the mould has encouraged them to do this? Interesting if that's why, if not down right annoying too! :(
good surprises,
